Paterson Institute Graduate Programme

The Paterson Institute offers a range of graduate degrees for students interested in a career involving cancer research.

Cancer Research UK PhD studentships

Each year we recruit around eight students to join us on our 4 year PhD programme. Cancer Research UK studentships within the Paterson are all 4 years in duration and eligible to UK, EU and International students. All studentships are fully funded by Cancer Research UK (including University tuition fees) and come with a generous stipend. If you are interested in applying for a studentship, or just want to know more about our PhD Programme, you can find further information here.

Clinical fellowships

In 2005, in collaboration with AstraZeneca, the Paterson Institute and MCRC established an innovative training scheme for Medical Oncologists. Find out more about our Clinical Pharmacology Research Fellowships here.

MD and MPhil studentships

Each year, we have a limited number of MD and MPhil projects, usually in collaboration with other groups in the Manchester Cancer Research Centre. You can find out more here.
